I have added new items to my Etsy Shop!  Click the link to check it out.  Here is a sneak peak:

I keep my accessories all over the house.  Jewellery and perfume in my bathroom, pashminas, tights and bathing suits in hatboxes, belts hanging on a belt hanger, nail polish tucked away inside my medicine cabinet... you get the idea.  I love seeing how other women organize their accesories so I thought why not give you all a sneak peek inside my own accessory drawers/closet/hat boxes, etc.

Something you might notice is how often I use hat boxes.  My sister started a birthday tradition between the two of us more than five years ago where we give our gift to the other, in a hat box.  I'd never heard of a hat box before this, and was absolutely in love with the idea.  Our mother has a slightly different opinion ('Another hat box?!'), but it's tradition, and tradition lives on.  The great thing about it is they are awesome for storing things in, and they are also so pretty to look at.  This year, my sister made my hat box for me, you will see it below with all the bikini's overflowing from it.

Below I will try to describe (clockwise) what you see in the pictures.

{ a hat box, two horse-hair boxes, a non-traditional hat box, and a wicker basket }

{ the overflow of belts tucked away in the non-traditional hat box }

{ hats in a hat box - how fitting }

{ inside the horse-hair boxes: leg-warmers & over-the-knee socks and tights }

{ tights in another non-traditional hat box }

{ I have a small love for pashminas }

{ more hat boxes up on a shelf, filled with bikinis }

{ earrings, watches, rings & wood-like bracelet drawer }

{ bracelet drawer - plastic, silver, beaded, metal, cuffs, chain, gold }

{ what you didn't see: leather cuffs stuffed in the back }

{ the 'in-rotation' necklaces get hung inside my bathroom cupboard }

{ my favourite nail polish, OPI }

Saturday night was a great evening: We went out to celebrate AT's & KL's birthdays.  We started out with dinner with about 18 of their closest friends and then headed to a comedy show.  Afterwards, we had a few drinks at a local bar and eventually hit up a super-packed nightclub (where I got all the ladies in for free!).  Happy birthday friends!

The title of this post is fitting because  1. It represents a sailor term,  2. It's a inside joke between my sister and I, and  3. Said (awesome) sister took these photos (thnx Jr!).  Not only is this outfit sailor-inspired, but it brings me back to a current fave.  It also gives you a peak inside a day without heels.  How often do you see me in flats?  Not very often, but I certainly welcome it when it happens.  And lastly, when I saw my parents my mom asked me if this was a new dress (which I usually answer back with, 'What constitutes new, exactly?') and this was no exception.  It may be hard to believe, but, I bought this dress over a year ago and this was the first time I finally wore it.  Well, it turned out to be just the right day for it.

I have a real fondness for animal prints.  Yes, sometimes it can be tacky, and sometimes certain people just can't pull it off, but done right?  Fierce.  When I think about my wardrobe, I guess I have more leopard print than zebra.  I have this leopard print trench, a pencil skirt, a dress, a cardigan and shoes.  Zebra comes in second with a pencil skirt and a cardigan.  Either way, my love for them both cannot be denied.  How do you feel about animal prints?
