Okay, I think I'm turning over a new leaf here, I've jumped aboard the chic trainers wagon and I don't want to get off!  When I ordered these olive green sneaks, it actually took everything in my power not to order them in the light grey as well!

I'm a big fan of high tops in the gym, cool looking sneakers like Supras (a fave pair seen on me here) and my Nike Blazers are my jam.  They stay put while lifting weights, but also add a little edge to your look.  That said, I'm feeling a big pull towards futuristic looking trainers and was reluctant at first, but now I'm fully on board.

It's been two years since I purchased my first designer bag, the Givenchy Antigona, during our first trip to Italy.  It was such an exciting day, and I remember wanting to skip down the street back to our AirBnB because I was on cloud 9.

When we came home, I shared the bag in a haul video, and featured it many times on the blog in various outfit posts.  Now that I've been using it for two years, I thought it would be a great time to share my thoughts on it, especially since this bag is still going strong in popularity.

Hi ladies, and hope you had a great Easter weekend and ate too much chocolate.

My weekend was a very, very sad one, and although it may have not seemed that way, I didn't share on Instastories why I was travelling.  My Uncle passed away last week and our entire family traveled to the Toronto area to celebrate him and say goodbye.  I shared a little more about my Uncle back in February here.  As you can imagine, we are devastated and words really cannot express how awful it is when you lose a loved one.

I won't get into more details, but it was, of course, so good to see all of our family and lean on one another.  We had also planned a surprise party for my Poppa beforehand as he would be celebrating his 90th birthday on the weekend, so we moved the party from Ottawa to Toronto instead, and did it with our immediately family.  As you can imagine, the weekend was full of mixed emotions.
That said, I did snap some photos to bring you along with me, for the parts that fit things in this space, so let's jump in.

Helloooo weekend!  Just a quick post to share some fun pieces that are currently on sale, are in my cart or great deals.  Hope you have a happy Easter!

The pom-pom beach bag above is adorable, I wish I had gotten it in time for trip but will have to put it to use for the next one--bonus, it's under $30!

As promised, here are the photos from our trip to Cancun last week.  We stayed at Breathless, which we decided on since we had stayed at Breathless in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic three years ago and loved it.  This resort did not disappoint and I'll let the photos speak for themselves before I go into a little more detail afterwards.

Hi ladies, today's post is all about taking basics you may already have in your closet, and transitioning them for spring; the cool to warm weather.

As a neutrals lover, I'm usually starting the base of my outfit with some sort of black, white or denim for the bottoms (the odd time with olive green).  Layering is key in this weather, so grab an oversized cardigan, throw a scarf in your bag and to make the outfit more warm-weather appropriate, I like to pair with a warm weather shoe.  Pumps aren't necessarily for warm weather, but barring your ankles are, so let them breathe.

It's that time again, Shopbop's big spring sale!  Essentially, if you spend under $500, you get 20% off, but if you spend over $500, you get 25% off, use code BIGEVENT17--plus don't forget, free shipping and returns.  I can also confirm for the Canadian girls, if you pay your duty in advance and make any returns, that duty gets refunded when you send your items back + no additional costs upon delivery.

Today I'm sharing a bunch of cute items I have my eye on that fall in the under $100 category.  I went a little nuts during the last sale, so am trying to reign it in this time.  My grey tank above is on sale and I wear it all the time--even in Mexico to work out when I realized I had forgotten my actual workout tanks.  It washes up beautifully, just hang it to dry to keep it nice.

Also, if you're in the mood for splurging, my newest distressed white skinnies are part of the sale (woohoo!), just size down one size because they run a little big--which never happens for me in pants.  Also, I've linked all the white distressed denim here, if you're on the hunt--perfect for summer!

It's Tuesday!  Last night, after a swapping a few sad emojis (ie. about vacation being over) with my girlfriend, we decided to do a impromptu dinner at my place.  I hadn't grabbed groceries and had an errand after work that prevented me from doing so, which meant I needed to whip something up from the cupboards.  #yikes

We went with a Meatless Monday theme, and I made us spinach and parmesan egg-white omelettes along with five-bean (instead of chickpea) cakes and we called it good.  Throwing together a meal without shopping for it isn't exactly my forte, but passing up good company wasn't an option so we made it work!  What do you girls cook in a pinch?  I'm always curious to hear what people eat for dinners.

Hey girls, hope you had a great weekend.  I am back from Cancun and will have a recap of the trip up this week--so many photos, lots to sort through so bear with me!

On Friday, we were still in Mexico, living the life and spending our last day on the beach.  These nude flip flops were my go-to all week, despite packing some tall gladiator sandals for daytime, I couldn't even be bothered to wear 'em.  Also, those cat eye rose gold sunglasses were worn the most of the four I brought, even got a couple compliments from strangers; $15 well spent!

We are on our way home from Mexico today but I wanted to get this post up for you girls so I am writing from the beach to share some wicked deals that are happening online this weekend.

My new favourite black jeans are currently 25% off with code PRIVATE25.  You will be seeing a lot of these in c coming posts because they are the exact same material as my favourite dark blue denim--so stretchy, comfortable, yet thick enough to feel sucked in.

Happy Friday!  Today marks our last day in Cancun which I'm totally mixed emotions over; on one hand I don't want to leave as not cooking, cleaning or have to get up early for work every morning has been glorious.  On the other hand, my anxiety has been hanging out for the past couple days so getting home to routine should curb that--ugh, kind of annoying.

A lot of you were asking about the sunglasses my Instastories (the ones above) and although I brought four different pairs on the trip, I ended up wearing these rose gold ones the most.  Bonus, they are super inexpensive and have a fantastic, cool-toned lens on them.

How has your week been?  It's been sunny and hot here, I might have even gotten the tiniest bit of colour despite not being someone who tans easily.  I'll be sharing a full recap of our trip, like I mentioned, next week.  In the meantime, here are some fun links from around the web to kick off the weekend!

Newest fave gym song.

These blush pink sneaks are super cute.

We stayed at this resort in Cancun, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Wore this perfect peachy-nude nail colour on our trip.

Good morning from sunny Cancun!  I'm here on vacation with Marco and my two closest girlfriends and we are enjoying the sunshine and heat--our hair, not so much!

We are here for the week and I will have a full recap of our vacation upon return.  Apologies for the lack of Weekend Snaps yesterday, but we arrived here Saturday afternoon and have been doing that vacation thang.

I'm a big fan of finding quality pieces, and have made that more my motto when shopping over the past year or so, but I can't help but peruse Forever 21 every now and again for a good budget-friendly score.

That said, I know many of you are American, but a lot of you are Canadian (like me) and I couldn't help but notice the many different items on the two Forever 21 websites.  So, instead of a usual Forever 21 Finds post, I'm sharing my favourites from both the Canadian and the American site so depending where you are, when you click on the image from the site of your home country, it should take you directly there (versus re-routing you to the main page--so annoying).
