A cute tag is going around the blogosphere and while I haven't done one in a while, Danielle tagged me, so why not?

1. How did your parents come up with your name?  They had friends who had named their daughter that a few years earlier, never heard it before, and loved it.
2.Do you typically get your nails done or do them yourself?  I do them myself to save money but I love getting them done.
3. Do you leave the house without makeup on?  No.  Always some mascara, at the very least.
4. Silver or Gold?  Both but I tend toward silver more.
5. Where would you like to go on your next vacation?  Carribean, Europe or Thailand.
6. Name one thing on your bucket list.  Travel to Europe.
7. What is your favorite feature (eyes, smile, etc)?  Hmmm... teeth?
9. Do you use sarcasm a lot?  I frequently wish there was a sarcasm font.  Does that answer the question?
10. What is the first thing that you notice about someone?  Hair + shoes.
11. What is your favorite food and/or dessert?  Baked pasta, steak, buffalo chicken fingers and pie (hands down).

Anyone else want to join the fun?  Answer the same q's and link back in the comments so I can read your answers.

If you have other questions, my Formspring account is all ears.

Inspired by her post, there are just some things you should know about me... I mean, we shouldn't keep secrets from each other, right?

I only started enjoying alcohol in the past couple of years.  For the longest time I hated it... until I found a few favourites (caesars, gin & tonic, red wine, bud light and bellini's).

I hate wearing socks and often won't wear them when I'm wearing boots (is that gross?).

I love, love, love all things whole wheat, whole grain, 12-grain, you name it, I love it.

I can't stand it when people clip their nails in public.

I bite my nails despite being a mild germaphobe.

I notice my physical flaws everyday and some days I have to talk to myself to shake it.

I drink at least four litres of milk a week (and if I don't get my daily intake, I go through 'milk withdrawl' and can get headaches).

All my wisdom teeth have been removed and it was the second worst experience of my life.

A car accident was the first.

I have a thing for dark-haired men (blondies have never done it for me).

I hate the look of my toes when not painted.

I have one sister

Sometimes I eat peanut butter from the jar.

I hate gardening but my mom has seen to it that we have a beautiful one.

I have hair extensions (which make my hair longer and thicker).

I hate flossing.

I pee with the door open... but will shut it for the other end.

I'm impatient and easily frustrated.

I'm tall (5'11) and while I embrace it (I wear heels all the time), I would give up inches in a heartbeat to not tower over everyone (preference: 5'8).

I don't consider myself a 'gym person' although I've held a gym membership for three years and go consistently (or try to).

I steam my clothes every morning.

I take forever getting ready for bed, mainly because I'm analyzing my skin and plucking my eyebrows.

I was totally inspired by Kinsey's post I decided to do my own.
I've never...

...eaten oysters

...re-soled a pair of shoes

...been to Europe

...owned a designer handbag

...had thick hair

...not been into clothes

...done a tequila shot (oh wait, yes I have)

...paid more than $50 for a bikini

...had a tattoo

...been into white wine but am a fan of red

PS - Just wanted to address how I used the word 'retard' in this post.
I know some of you didn't like that very much, and I do feel bad that it was something that made you speak up.
I certainly didn't mean it in a demeaning way, but alas it seems to have come across that way.
I'll be more considerate next time :)

One of my favourite bloggers, Lena, gave me the 'Stylish Blogger Award' a few days ago and I couldn't be more flattered.  The fact that she picked me (and six others) is super sweet and so appreciated, I'm pretty excited.  So, the rules go something like this, list seven things about yourself and spread the love.  Here we go:

1.  When I like a song, I really like it.  And by really like it, I mean I play it over and over and over again until I'm sick of it.  My hubby tells me I'm, 'killing the track'.  Oops.

2.  I don't mind cooking, but hubs isn't a huge fan of my cooking.  We have completely different cooking styles.  He uses a lot of oil and cream (which tastes delicious but...) and often forgets to cook vegetables with meat and I'm all about whole grains, the more veggies the merrier, etc.  However, don't get me wrong, I love dessert.

3.  Every year I do a Christmas craft with my mother-in-law.  We've done this for six years now.

4.  I'm the clean freak here, but my side of our bedroom is always the messiest.  Coming home to a mess frustrates the hell out of me, but I can't seem to get my act together and dress in the mornings in an organized, neat fashion (aka I throw clothes all over the place).

5.  My favourite treat is pie.  I love it so much that sometimes, even if it's 10pm at night, I will drive to the grocery store to feed my craving.  Strawberry-rhubarb, pumpkin, blueberry, coconut cream and bumbleberry crumble.

6.  I prefer to shower at night.

7.  I'm really into cars and take great pride in taking care of mine.  My Dad is a mechanic and has taught me a lot and cars are just something that sticks.  I could stand on the street and name off every passing car because I know my cars like that.

Your turn...
See Jane.  |  Veronika's Blushing  |  ...love Maegan

My BBFF Jamie from GLAM LATTE has gifted me with a blogger award (thnx JW!).  Last time, I listed some facts about myself and this time the rules are no different:  I have to list 7 things about myself and then nominate a few other bloggers for the award.

1.  I'm chronically late.  It's terrible.  I'm trying to fix it.
2.  My nails are always painted, including toes (even in the winter, just like JW)
3.  One of my good friends (AT) just got engaged and I'm sooo happy for her/them!
4.  For work, I prefer skirts to dress pants.
5.  I steam everything and steam everyday.  Okay, not my socks.  (What? I don't like creases)
6.  I've purchased my wedding shoes (!) and have been instructed to, 'break them in' ...but isn't that cheating?!
7.  I'm more of a necklace person than an earring person.

Nominations go to:

Sharon @ elisharon
Julianne @ Lace and Leather
Louise @ Fifth Sparrow
Amy over at Junghwa by Amy Stewart does these awesome posts on Friday, fun facts actually, where she divulges various things about herself. I love reading it and look forward to it each week. I thought it would be fun to steal this idea, so let's go:

Fact #1:
I know how ride a motorcycle. I took a course five years ago and finally understood why my dad was so obsessed. Since then, a good friend re-taught me last summer on his bike (a Yamaha R1), which was amazing. We went out several times throughout the summer and I even took it on (deserted & quiet) roads. I have a (huge) itch to buy a bike and hope to do so in the somewhat near future.

(Side note: Both my parents are bikers so I say it's in my genes ;)

Fact #2:
I have a dog named Peanut and she is 10 years old.  She lives with my parents but is our family dog.  She's part shih tzu, part bichon frisĂ© and is so soft and cuddly (and stubborn).  We got Peanut when she was only a mere two months old and could fit in the palm of our hand.  Now, she is about 15 pounds but still enjoys being picked up and carried around.  Can't imagine my life without her.

Fact #3:
My fiancĂ© and I have been together for six years and engaged for almost two years.  This photo was taken at our one year anniversary.

Fact #4:
I only have one friend (PK) that is taller than me, or... we might be the exact same height (5'11).  I tower over everyone else ... and it doesn't help that I always wear heels.

Fact #5:
My bff (SL) and I have been friends since we met in grade 4.  Through good times and bad, we have never been closer than we are now and I couldn't ask for a better friend.  At the end of the summer, she is moving away to another city (4 hours away) to go school.  While I'm so proud of her and happy for her to begin a new journey, I cannot stop getting emotional when I think about her moving away.  I know this is a great and fantastic thing for her, but I really don't know how I'm going to 'survive' without having her in this city.
